First post of my very new blog; yay! Read the intro for what this blog is/ will be about, because I'm not explaining it twice. So, lets start off with a bang: pointe shoes. I've had exactly two different types of shoes: Bloch Aspirations (my first pair) and Suffolk Solos (all the rest of my pairs). In fact, my picture is of Solos. I have been en pointe for about a year and a half. And in my year and a half of standing on my toes, I have learned some extremely important facts about pointe shoes:
- Do not spill water on them. Ever.
- If you decide to pancake (put calamine on) your shoes, run it by your studio first.
- Don't get them before you're ready, and always have a new type of shoe fitted by someone in the store.
- Always, always, always warm-up before you have a rehersal.
