Pointe Shoes- First Edition

First post of my very new blog; yay!  Read the intro for what this blog is/ will be about, because I'm not explaining it twice.  So, lets start off with a bang: pointe shoes.  I've had exactly two different types of shoes: Bloch Aspirations (my first pair) and Suffolk Solos (all the rest of my pairs).  In fact, my picture is of Solos.  I have been en pointe for about a year and a half.  And in my year and a half of standing on my toes, I have learned some extremely important facts about pointe shoes:
  1. Do not spill water on them. Ever.
  2. If you decide to pancake (put calamine on) your shoes, run it by your studio first.
  3. Don't get them before you're ready, and always have a new type of shoe fitted by someone in the store.
  4. Always, always, always warm-up before you have a rehersal.
Those aren't all of them, but that's the basic idea.  Good luck!
Aspirations!
