Hey guys! So for Christmas, I got a flexistretcher. And I love it. It's this stretchy thing that is perfect for practicing arabesque. It comes with a booklet that has tons more stretches in it too, all of which I have tried. Many times. I've been practicing with it a lot and can tell that it'll be great for getting my penches.
See?
If you want to see some videos and such about it, just click here. Happy stretching!

So. It is my second post, and I'm already at a deadlock for what to write. I'm at a blog-lock. So I will post random pictures of ballets. Provided by Google. Enjoy.
Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker
Svetlana Zakharova. Wow.
San Francisco Ballet's Giselle
Svetlana and her incredi-feet. Can you tell she's my favorite dancer?
Pittsburgh Ballet's Sleeping Beauty
New Jersey Ballet's Cinderella
There it is. And I may or may not blog over the next few days, as I'm going to my grandparents' house for Christmas. So happy dancing, and merry Christmas :)
First post of my very new blog; yay! Read the intro for what this blog is/ will be about, because I'm not explaining it twice. So, lets start off with a bang: pointe shoes. I've had exactly two different types of shoes: Bloch Aspirations (my first pair) and Suffolk Solos (all the rest of my pairs). In fact, my picture is of Solos. I have been en pointe for about a year and a half. And in my year and a half of standing on my toes, I have learned some extremely important facts about pointe shoes:
Do not spill water on them. Ever.
If you decide to pancake (put calamine on) your shoes, run it by your studio first.
Don't get them before you're ready, and always have a new type of shoe fitted by someone in the store.
Always, always, always warm-up before you have a rehersal.
Those aren't all of them, but that's the basic idea. Good luck!
